Message from the Andersen Family
Four generations of the Andersen family have owned and operated Northwestern Bank. In 1915, First National Bank of Lockhart opened its doors in Lockhart, Minnesota. In 1923, the bank moved from Lockhart to Ulen and became Northwestern State Bank. Since then, we have become a national bank and have grown to four locations serving numerous communities and employ over 50 team members. We are grateful to the thousands of loyal customers and hundreds of devoted employees who, over the years, have helped make our bank a success.
Since its inception, Northwestern Bank has been guided by the Andersen family’s core values and beliefs:
- Respect for the Individual: We’re hardworking, ordinary people who have teamed up to accomplish great things. We never take each other for granted. We encourage those around us to express their thoughts and ideas. We treat each other with dignity and respect.
- Service to Our Customers: Our customers are the reason we exist. We offer innovative, quality products and services, and deliver each and every one with smiles on our faces. We look for every opportunity to exceed our customers’ expectations.
- Concern for the Community: We have chosen with care the communities in which we serve. We do our absolute best to strengthen them and ensure their longevity.
- Striving for Excellence: We’re proud of what we’ve achieved over the years, but are never satisfied. We always ask: ‘Is this the best we can do?’ We will always pursue with passion the best we can be for our business, for our customers, for our employees, and for our communities.
With its steadfast adherence to these guiding principles, the Andersens have successfully ushered Northwestern Bank into the 21st century.
